Instagram decided to follow in TikTok's footsteps and began testing full-screen content display in the smartphone app.
For those who start receiving the update, the full-screen feed will appear as soon as the app is launched, with photos and videos taking up the entire space of the phone's screen (like what happens on TikTok). Instagram reinforces that this is a test, which should take a few weeks to complete, and that it wants user feedback, saying whether or not they liked the change.
The change does not mean that Instagram has decided to abandon Stories, only being triggered when the user is not dragging the screen up or down.
Also according to the publication, Stories are currently the main source of revenue for the image social network, in its move to prioritize videos and original content creators.
